The programme concluded with participants being awarded the Certified Cryptocurrency Investigator (CCI) certifications.

Why Cryptocurrency Investigation Training Is Essential for Banks and Financial Institutions

The Cryptocurrency Investigation training is essential for banks and financial institutions because digital financial crime continues to rise and the growing adoption of cryptocurrency among bank users increases, making crypto investigation skills critical for detecting, investigating and responding to emerging financial crime risks.

For this Cryptocurrency Investigation training, Participants were drawn from ABSA Bank Kenya PLC's Financial Crime Operations and Regulatory Compliance Departments and completed an intensive five day Cryptocurrency Investigation Training designed to strengthen their ability to investigate crypto enabled financial crime. Throughout the programme, participants expanded their understanding of blockchain technology, cryptocurrency ecosystems, digital asset transactions and blockchain intelligence while developing practical skills to identify, investigate and mitigate financial crimes involving cryptocurrencies.

As cryptocurrencies and other digital assets continue to gain mainstream adoption across Africa and globally, financial institutions are increasingly exposed to new forms of financial crime including money laundering, fraud, sanctions evasion, ransomware payments and terrorist financing. The Cryptocurrency Investigation Training delivered by A&D Forensics was developed to bridge this critical skills gap by equipping banking professionals with internationally recognised investigative methodologies, blockchain forensic techniques and practical investigative workflows that help financial institutions strengthen their financial crime controls while remaining compliant with evolving regulatory expectations.
